Description: The goal of this class is to prepare students for college level literature classes through discussions focused on literary analyses. Reading classics from British literature, students will work to develop a critical approach to literature and will be expected to respond through essays, class participation, and exams. Novels, drama, and poetry from various literary periods will be covered. The students will also choose an individual reading project that they will share with the class.

Tutor: Tammy Prichard has been educating students for over 30 years, both as a homeschooling parent and as a classroom teacher. She has taught classes in both public and private schools and has a passion to see students grow and mature in their handling of literature and the written word. Mrs. Prichard graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She and her family live in Northfield, where her husband is a lawyer and where they have raised their 7 grown children. She also teaches writing part time at Arcadia Charter School in Northfield.

Supplies: The tutor will purchase the books for students, and the price of the books is included in the cost of the class (above).  Students need to bring a student notebook for taking notes and for keeping track of homework.
