Description: The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Developed by the College Board, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program, available at more than 2,900 colleges and universities. Exams are approximately 90 minutes long, with the exception of College Composition, which is 120 minutes. Exams contain mainly multiple-choice questions. College Composition also includes essays. Most colleges require a score of 50% to receive credit for the class. The Chemistry examination covers material that is usually taught in a one-year college course in general chemistry. Understanding of the structure and states of matter, reaction types, equations and stoichiometry, equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics, and descriptive and experimental chemistry is required, as is the ability to interpret and apply this material to new and unfamiliar problems. CHAT's philosphy in offering CLEP test prep classes it help students get college credit for what they are learning in their CHAT classes. Review sessions will consist of reviewing specific test topics, learning test-taking strategies, assigning practice test questions, and reviewing practice test questions. NOTE: The schedule times and dates will be decided on by the students and tutors once registration closes.
