Tutor: Christina Sluka
Email:christina.sluka@chatclasses.com
Length: Full Year Class Period: Thursday, eCHAT Period 6 (1:45 - 2:45 p.m.)

Description:   Students will explore beginning music theory using musical instruments along with their bodies and voice. They will also learn about a composer and identify the sound of different instruments used in an orchestra throughout the year. We will use the final weeks preceding the end of the semester to practice songs for their music performance. If your child will not be able to attend the performance, or if they are not given an instrument to play in the performance, then at certain times they will be provided music worksheets to do in class or opt to be part of an audience to give classmates constructive feedback.

Covid - 19 Contingency Plan - In the event that we are forced to transition to online classes at any point in the school year, this class will continue to be held.

Tutor: Christina Sluka, with her husband, David, educated their four children at home for over 10 years. She has a M.A. in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas including a K-6 elementary teaching license. Their family has served as missionaries in the metro area and overseas.
