Description: Encore! is a dynamic homeschool choir with an emphasis on singing technique and performance (full year commitment required as technique and material for spring builds off of the fall semester). Encore! will include more than only singing. As a choir, we will also learn about the building blocks of music and critical listening skills. Students will grow in appreciation for the musicians and composers of the past and present as we learn about their lives and experience some of their compositions as well as develop their musical ear. Most of all, we will sing songs from a variety of genres and languages that are glorifying to our Lord, fun, and educational.

Encore! will perform at both a Christmas Celebration and Spring Showcase.  We also plan to sing the National Anthem at a Twins Game in the spring (optional)!

Vocal coach/director: Andrea Orem has bachelor’s degrees in K-12 Vocal Music Education, Music Composition, and Bible from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. She has been teaching music to young people in one-on-one lessons, small groups, school classroom settings, and homeschool groups for 13 years. In her free time, Andrea enjoys organic gardening, singing in Two Rivers Chorale, helping people navigate TMJ issues naturally, puppy raising service dogs in training, reading, mentoring new freelance music teachers, and serving in various ways at Antioch Community Church with her husband, Gabe.
